Meet the Artist

Hi there! My name is Kailyn. I'm the one running the show here.

I've always had an artistic inclination and a knack for working with my hands. One of my proudest accomplishments is graduating from New Orleans Center for Creative Arts in Visual Arts where I excelled in sculpture, of course. Since then my dream careers have ranged from jeweler to florist to custom furniture maker... you know, making pretty things!

I've always been inspired by the beauty in natural variation. Really, think about it! We all know that no two fingerprints are the same, but that also applies to every stone, snowflake, flower, seashell, tree, animal, etc etc etc. How incredible is it that every single thing found in nature is at least a little bit different from the next, therefore completely different? How beautiful is it that you and I are a part of that?

I like to think of my work as a celebration of the wearer's complete individuality, and to serve as a reminder that we are not separate from nature, but part of it.

It is for that reason the electroforming medium truly resonates with me. The art of electroforming involves some math, some science, and a whole lotta trust in the process! Every single piece comes out at least a little bit different than the next, even with the same design, but I'll write more about that in another post.

About me personally - I'm Louisiana born & raised, but New Orleans specifically to my core. (Seriously, don't even try to reach me during Deep Gras. I'm a Mardi Gras FIEND.) Some people say I sound like I'm from the Midwest, others say I sound like a hick, so really I couldn't tell you about my accent.

I'm the oldest of 5 kids within almost exactly 10 years of each other, and have a cat named Chichi (short for Cheeto Face). I love visual art, the beach, literary fiction books, early 2010's reality TV, and Lana Del Rey.

Lastly, I LOVE my job and am so, so grateful for your support! It really means the world to me on the most personal level.
